Your George Creed tribute is absolutely stunning. A very fitting tribute indeed! Also how did you manage to make the seams on the base of the Austratt turret go away? Magic?

Thank you Bruce. My tribute build doesn't measure up to George's build of this same model, but I did my best to emulate his work all the same. I am proud to be displaying this on the tables. I will have it at the Pasadena Valleycon on March 1st next year. That is also my birthday and spending it at a model show is almost the penultimate way to celebrate a birthday for me.

As for the seam on the Austratt turret base, I did the following:

First I filled the seam with Mr. Surfacer 500. After about two or three minutes; I took a very stiff bristled brush and dabbed at it to give it a rough texture. Once it dried fully, I sanded it slightly to lower some of the peaks and blend it into the surrounding rough texture. I had to do it a few times before the seam disappeared completely and the roughness blended well enough.

That and a little voodoo chant while swinging a dead chicken over my head....
