Interesting project Bruce!

Spitfire has also been for me a plane with mixed emotions..

Started long time ago my 1st "modern time Sptifire" build on the 22nd of October 2017, Eduards 1:48 Mk. IX. Even if the kit was fantastic.. on 3rd of November 2017 the build stalled and eventually stopped. Back in the box..

And then Revells, not so good fit build in March 2018, with same destiny as Eduards 1:48

So perhaps.. I would need to try for the 3rd time and try a 1/72 instead !! :-)

Nevertheless, I will follow this build and who knows, will do a parallell build perhaps... :-)

The Spitfires about the only thing I've built - if you consider about a third of my completed builds happen to be one!

Small. Well-proportioned. Engraving looks spot on. Flash is present but so what we are modelers, and we know how to clean up parts! Looking forward to giving these the spa treatment. It is beastly hot. Glad I’m not in the valley.

Great introduction to the build, I look forward to watching it develop.

Guilty for not checking in sooner. Me, I just crack open the box and have at it. This level of preparation is somewhat foreign, okay, completely foreign, to me. I have enjoyed reading it and truly enjoyed the pictures. There is just something about these WW2 aircraft that triggers certain emotions and music to me. Love it.

Now, get busy and sling some Testor's red tube!

The Hasegawas details are more crispier, sharper than Eduards. I think the reason for this is the plastic used. Hasegawa (usually) has hard plastic, while Eduards is slightly softer. Airfix being softest of these three.

No one having a Heller, Revell, Academy, Matchbox in 1/72 in their stash, to show the sprues and join the unofficial 1/72 Spitfire group activity build !
