Those are nice looking seats! Do you have all of them to choose from or is that just a ref pic?

If anyone is interested... Damian of Synthetic Ordinance Works has offered his replacement landing gear legs for sale over at LSP. It looks like he is willing to ship to Europe. You were right about the cockpit tub fit John. That looks great!! I used , what I think was a Verlinden set on my first 109 project which was a Hasegawa offering and the fit was horrible. I made it work but it was before I knew how to weather paint or had the skills necessary to obtain a proper looking fit. Point being is that was back in 2006 and back then resin AM to model fit was terrible.

As far as I'm concerned the LSP reference can stand. I'm over there as well and it's another great resource for modeling.

Resin, even these days, can be a mixed bag. I'm starting to form personal rules regarding aftermarket in my builds. One of them is: Resin sets that are totally enclosed such as cockpits and wheel wells can usually be made to work. Resin sets for exterior pieces should be considered only if there is no other option. Obviously, I cannot get from the Revell G-6 to a G-6/AS without AMUR Reaver's resin cowling so this is a case where there is no option.

Of all of the instrument panel options, my favorite is the clear acetate sandwiched between a resin backing and a photoetched face. That's probably why I use Aires cockpit sets so much.


Compared to punching out instrument decals individually, set-up for these IP's is pretty simple. Just spray the back of the clear acetate white so that the instruments become visible from the front and paint the IP face. Make sure you flat coat the IP BEFORE you assemble.


Fidelity of the instruments is really good and you get a convincing replica once the components are placed together.


The acetate has the added benefit of simulating glass dials very effectively.

That has to be a favorite of mine as well....in both the aviation world as well as the auto world. You just can't help but to use it as it's so darn realistic looking!!
