:bored: It's probably about time I actually posted some photos of the build... :headslap:

As I'm running two Laptops (one for each of my part-time jobs) and have space issues - I'm currently working off my old tray, an old upturned MDF monitor stand I :quotes: rescued :quotes: from work years ago!

So I've spent most of the week working on the fuselage. As I said, I made a complete pigs ear of the rescribing - it was the first time I tried to use the raised panels as a guide and it didn't work out very well. So I've removed all the lines from the fuselage, filled it, mr surfacered it, and wet sanded it. The plan is to use the Tamiya kit (when it arrives) as a guide and redo the major lines.

It looks a lot better now but I'm going to have to repaint the cockpit surround. I've only just added the flying surfaces and the intake - once it's dry I'll go around with some plastic strip and PPP.

I've also dipped the canopy in Future.

It's nice now it's starting to look like an airplane. Hopefully this will be the first Modern US Jet I'll complete since the 1980s.

Cheers!

Well, there you go! A reasonable solution. The old girl is coming along.

Not too much longer until paint starts going on the outside! :hmm:

Godspeed good buddy. I dislike Airfix but I like you and your ethos and I like F-16’s so you’ve got my support 110%.

Excellent work so far Stuart! Very nice! I personally wouldn't re-scribe any panel lines because like Carlos said; it's a very clean design. Furthermore, in 1/72 scale; panel lines are almost indistinguishable.

Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks Gents - much appreciated!

You're probably right, there might not be much point in adding them back in - I doubt you'd notice with the paint on anyway - it doesn't look too bad for a kit that dates back to the early 80's.

So this is current progress - I'm probably going to hold it here until the Tamiya CJ catches up.

Cheers!
