Took a look at the instruction guide through scalemates. Saw the kit is dated 2005. Now why in the world would Revell have the tail wheel molded to the tail rudder? Makes no sense.

Witcha on that one. Looked like flash. Wasn’t flash. Oh well. Still a fun little kit.

The original molds for the kit were cut in 1956. The tail wheel was molded that way probably, due,to mold limitations of that time.
BTW Lyle, great work on hollowing that area out!

Thanks, Carlos. That was an odd area, too. Way thicker than flas usually is. You would also have thought they could have scrobedva wheel rim or something. Granted it is all but invisible.

Heh...I fondly remember the old Monogram 1/48 Trimotor kit. For some reason, I never built it. I guess maybe I was more into aircraft kits that go rata-tat-tat or BBBBRRRRRRRRR of the machine guns.

Not a high parts count kit too. Pretty much a straightforward build without complicated part placements. Of course there’s always a head scratcher part as I mentioned above. Old kits reissued will almost always have flash due to the age of the molds. You would think someone would make new and improved molds at this day and age.

Tom, Tom, Tom...that takes money, silly boy! You are right. Low parts count AND it has a dog sled with dogs.SCORE. Not.
