Now you are starting to sound like Stikpusher!

Anyway, by the looks of it I think I should get some quickboost engines before starting this bird.
:D There is nothing wrong with stepping out of a perfectly good aircraft in flight in the middle of the night while being burdened down like a pack mule... ;)

Nice preview so far. The decal sheet looks really great! But that is cheating if you do not paint the Invasion Stripes. I was offered this one too, but I already have one in the stash for many years now.

Hahaha you guys crack me up! :P

Stikpusher, I totally plan on painting those invasion stripes. Still qualifies it as an out of the box build...

There is EVERYTHING wrong with leaving a perfectly good airplane.....
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Hah! After some of those flights, you WANT out long before the aircraft is due to land...

Be interested to see how this comes out, I picked one up for $15 dollars at show last year, had too order a decal set for it though, I did start it and was like you surprised at the size of it, imust get out sometime and finish it.

Looking great so far Adam! I made the same bird in a "Band of Brothers" theme right down to the chalk marked "67" next to the door,, I do recall the wing root being gappy and troublesome. I think you have it covered tho,, watching! :D

I'm back. Sorry for the long delay on this. Between being forced to remodel my living room and switching jobs I haven't had much free time lately to enjoy our wonderful hobby. Anyway things have settled down a bit and I am back at it.

The interior took a me a little while longer than I had expected. There's so much more to do than on a little 1/48 fighter. Basically you start out by painting most everything interior green. I deviated from the instructions on the cargo bay floor though and painted it aluminum with black anti skid strips. Most of the other detail like the IP and radio gear is painted flat black with details picked out in silver. There is a decal provided for the IP and I used it. It laid down nicely over the raised detail and looks the part. After everything was painted I gave the green parts of the floor a little dry brushing with silver to make it look worn. I then gave the interior fuselage sides a wash. The belts in the cargo bay were painted a light tan and then given a black wash to make everything pop out. I'll let the pictures speak for the kit detail itself. This is a kit that would really lend itself well to super detailing the insides.

Oh I also cut a couple small pieces of paper from the instruction sheet and put them on the table just to add a little visual interest. Still OOB! The whole assembly plops right in the side of the fuselage with not problems which really surprised me. Test fitting also reveals that there will be no gap problems caused by the interior assembly with is even more shocking.

I still can't believe they included the lavatory.

Next up we'll assemble this bad boy!
