Mark, it was indeed great to just build something as intended by the model company and not get bogged down in alterations. Even if I did a couple very small quick ones…

I'd totally agree with that, the Ruskies had some nice looking aircraft in WWII and the winter scheme they had on them look really nice - especially with the contrasting red stars.

Stuart, there is certainly something to be said for that style of building! It actually leads to finishing something! Ive only built a few Russian WWII aircraft, and none in winter camo, so that is something I need to do.

Kari, the Russians did have some good looking camo. And with no upper wing markings I bet it was fairly effective in flight.

The only airbrushing done was for the gloss coat before decals and the flat coat afterwards. All colors were applied with good old brushes.

I dont know about the tube glue part, but I sure don’t mind doing the hand brushing part.

Thank you Bob. This build is so clean compared to my usual style. Next one will look more appropriately used. But if you like clean aircraft, you might want to think about building some racer planes or aerobatic team types. Those are like autos with their super clean shiny finishes.

Or an airliner - lots of great liveries and finish work. Start small
