I love those oddball, “might have been” designs. This one fits that bill perfectly!

Both the Ohka’s are done so I am going back to this build.
I added a few details. Exhaust pipes made with Evergreen (left none, right done) and “scissor hinges” (is that the correct word?) on the landing gear.

Furthermore I did some initial gap filling and sanding. On most parts that is done but there are some touch ups needed. All in all the fit is quite reasonable for a short run kit of this vintage.

That is looking great. Nice additional detail, too.

Nice progress. We always just called them scissors. They are there to keep the oleo strut from rotating, and with some struts to control the maximum extension.

Nice idea of taking your modeling with you on vacation! Interesting comparison between this aircraft and the Me163.

Yes, whenever possible I try to take some stuff along. Obviously I cannot take my airbrush with me do it is often just a bit of construction.

I have several Komets, the Black Bullet is quite a bit larger. I think it will also make a nice comparison with the Kawanishi J7M1 that I have in my collection. Both are pushers.

I have black based the model after three rounds of putty and sanding. A good surface prep is necessary for a BMF finish.

Taking something with you to work on sounds like a relaxing way to spend some time while you are relaxing.....You are so correct on the surface prep for a BMF! Looking good.

BMF is a tough job! Luckily, I can avoid that on most of my WW2 builds!
