Outstanding results! This is one excellent build!
Thank you Carlos! I appreciate you following along til the end!

Thanks John, I appreciate it!

Floki wrote:John, definitely a build to be proud of. That engine is just beautiful along with all the detail in the cockpit.
Thank you Clint! I liked how the cockpit turned out too but it is now largely hidden due to the small size of the cockpit opening.

tempestjohnny wrote::bow: perfect rendition
Thank you! Far from perfect but I'm happy with the result!

mustang1989 wrote:The level of detail that you bring to the table with your builds is unbelievable at times. I have learned techniques from you that I now use on my own builds but that's what these forums are for. We all have the opportunity to get better and better at this hobby through watching others successes as well as the failures. Thank you for taking the time to explain and show your techniques.

I really like the fact that the engine is displayed in this build John. I know you couldn't help it but it really just puts another cherry on top of this sweet build. :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:
Yup and I've also learned techniques and information from online builds that I read and I agree how that makes us better modelers. Thanks for the input!

Thanks Lyle!

Thank you! Yeah, the Tempest is a bad bird!

quote="keavdog"]Exceptional! It's model porn. Such a treat for the eyes... so much to look at. I really like the finish. :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:[/quote]
Thanks John! I think part of that is the layered approach to the weathering. On their own, each technique may look strange (like the preshade mottle) and the effect neglible but they do add up, giving the model a sort of visual depth.

Thanks Duke! Glad to have this one completed after starting it over a year ago!

So pleased to finally see you tackle a British subject with your usual brilliance John. You can say what you like about the British Army and Royal Navy in WWII, but the RAF kicked arse - and that's one hell of a tribute.

It's a phenomenal build, expertly put together, painted and finished - if I didn't know better I'd say it was a real aircraft.

Bravo Maestro! :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:

Thank you Stuart! It's always nice changing lanes and trying some non-Luftwaffe subjects every now and then! And quite appropriate since the Tempest was a documented adversary of the Fw190D-9 that I am so fond of.

Thank you Torben! I don't know about it being the best... I'm just glad I was able to get the engine/nose to fit without a noticeable seam line! But thank you!

Seconded.

Simply astonishing. I know since I followed your initial chess moves that this kit proved to be a fitting challenger, but you have exceeded yourself. Congratulations.

Thank you very much, Bruce! I appreciate the compliments! It was an interesting and fun build. They all initially fall below personal expectations upon completion as I seem to regret the things I failed to do. But over time, I start appreciating it more. I'm happy especially with the engine and the joint work between the nose and fuselage.
