that is stunning work! The color, the setting, how it looks in total! Oh, and the airplane looks pretty sharp as well. Likes me some hot links.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Thanky Lyle! You a cut up, brother! Hot links? Oh yeah, hotter the better; wrap 'em in a piece o' white bread, wash it down with the adult beverage of your choice. You liked the plane too?LyleW wrote:that is stunning work! The color, the setting, how it looks in total! Oh, and the airplane looks pretty sharp as well. Likes me some hot links.

Very nice Gary. The Tamiya Wildcat is an absolute gem isn't it...one of my favorites. Its nice to see someone have success with Tamiya decals, especially over those fuselage rivets.
Those saaaaagaes look scrumptious!....Don't make me post a bucket o' Colonel....

Can you fly this plane and land it? Surely you can't be serious? I am serious, and don't call me Shirley

Re: 1/48 Tamiya Grumman F4F Wildcat
Thanks so much Joe! Much appreciated here in Texas. Yeah, the Wildcat is a real nice kit to build; it doesn't "build itself" as some folks told me, lol. But it does go together nice. It's still my one and only finished Tamiya plane, with 6 or 7 in the stash. The Tamiya decals went down without drama. In fact, decaling is about my favorite part of a build. To me, the planes begin to look "real" when they get their markings.
Those were good sausages. The individual links were Slovacek brand (those Czechs and Germans do know how to make 'em!). One of Texas' best known BBQ joints is in Lockhart (sometimes called the BBQ capital of the world due to 3 or 4 world-class establishments.) The place I'm referring to is Kreutz Market. It is pronounced "Krites". They now have a satellite location in Plano called the Lockhart Smokehouse. I've tried both and their sausage ain't worth buying. As for their brisket , well, on a good day, with good beef, I can beat them both. I know, how modest of me!
But facts ain't braggin brother!
Thanks again for the great reply Joe! It feels good to get compliments from a master modeler.
