I decided to test fit the cab using the Cameo's firewall on the Foose frame with the engine in its place. Nope. Not gonna fit. The transmission clearance is too small and will not accommodate the large engine transmission.

So I started to do a little Iron Resurrection surgery. The Foose firewall is too wide to fit on the Cameo. With a spare identical Foose firewall on hand, I trimmed the lower bulge and mated it to the Cameo firewall. Here's the result...




Not exactly a perfect fit but it's a start. Awaiting for the glue to cure before re-attaching the firewall to the Cameo cab. Hopefully this will solve the firewall clearance. If sucessful, a little bit of cosmetic surgery will be performed to make it a nice, clean custom firewall.

I may end up taking out the top curved bulge and replace it with a small piece of styrene as a flat face.

The firewall had major surgery late last night. Dremeled out the top bulge, replaced it with a simple piece of styrene, perfect plastic putty in preparation to smooth it out tonight.
I think this will make it much cleaner and hopefully it will fit around the transmission once I do a final fit on the cab. Photo forthcoming......

Yup. Just hope it fits around the transmission. Otherwise, I’m back to square one....
