Here is where I ran into a little issue. I am having difficulty in trying to replicate sun bleached black paint. I think I have the chipping and worn off paint look fairly well but I was wondering if I use some real thin white at a lower pressure at around 6 psi.
see what you think.

First of all I have to say that I am excited to see one of Monogram“s best 1/48 scale kits ever being build! Thanks for sharing this, Paul!
Not sure about you last question, the pictures are not really easy to judge the white fading. What I saw first are lots of white dots?!?
If you thinks its overdone why not have an overspray of very diluted faded black?

It is looking good Paul!
If you're thinking of very thin white, to fade with...it's VERY easy to mess up with paint that is super thin.
I'd recommend adding a drop of white/light grey to a paint cup of thinned dull coat(thinned to a consistency that you'd normally spray with) . I use this method all the time....but I save it for after the decals, so they get a bit of a fade job as well. The color "builds up" very slowly and is very forgiving.
I love this kit, and would love to do another someday!
Did this one some years ago, shortly after it came out...
(before I had an airbrush...used a rattlecan, drybrush and pastels only for the finish)

Fermis, you are by far better without an airbrush than I with mine...

Thanks Fermis, It looks better sitting here than in the pics so I'll take tour suggestion into practice.

Maybe it's the pics,. but I can't see where you messed up. I think the weathering is fantastic; I doubt I could do that well.Looking good, I can't wait to see more.
