I need some hep. in the image above, notice that the outside of the cowling and the nose piece seem to be a "not aluminum" color. A gray, perhaps or simply aluminum (alyouminnieyum for you Brits) that has oxidized? I'm likely wrong, but leaning towards it being a gray. This picture is from the KYANG archives, so I do not think it has been colorized.
Also, notice the landing/taxi light in the nose. Seems to be to the starboard side, eh? So, is it one, off-center or two -one each side?
How big are the KY letters on the fuselage? I'm thinking 12" since they are the same size as the bar on the insignia.
Can anyone make out the tail number more better than I? I think it is 20893. Any way to look up this number?

The nose is definitely gray. But I think the cowlings are dull aluminum (maybe). Also I think the inside upper cowling is painted black as an anti-glare measure. And there are two lights in the nose.

Nice subject! I agree with Doc about the grey nose and black on the inside quarters of the engine cowlings. I think the cowlings are close enough to the engines to be Neutral Grey as well. Tail number is definitely 20893. The KY code looks to be slightly larger than the bar.

Mike and John, thanks! That is a gorgeous picture...this craft is USAF nor ANG, though. Sticking With the 20893. Ive fired off an email to MSgt Speck at the KYANG.

The similarities in serial number was suspicious so I did some digging.
According to the following document:
Page 172...
USAF 210893 was, at one point, "del. to Kentucky ANG 165th Fighter Bomber Squadron".
The photo I posted is the same aircraft as yours. Code is 210893.
