Stuart, thank you. Well, the engine is in place. I only had 4 parts come off and had to remove the upper and lower "u-shaped" braces to be able to see what I needed to see. But, no real damage done and all is back in place. I think. Nothing left on the bench.

Great stuff Lyle, that is really coming along nicely! I'm definitely going to get myself a truck kit this year - Its something I've been wanting to do for ages but your build have really convinced me.

Wow, this AMT/Round 2 chrome on the plastic is tough. Several hours in bleach..nothing. two and a half days in Simple Green - still not 100% but okay enough. I guess I'm spoiled. The first time I tried this with bleach, it took the chrome off the parts in less than a minute.
And a couple of hoses and connections made on the engine...

Nice progress Lyle! Getting rid of that chrome does look like fun...

Thank you Stuart. I did send Round2 a note on adding a real parts map with numbers and asking about the chrome...Don't expect anything to come of it.
Gotta love AMT/Round 2 instructions...from Scalemates, here are the instructions. Note Step 3.2 and Step 6 (drawing of chassis).
Note where the "Number 3 Crossmember" is located. Now jump to Step 6. The "Number 3 Crossmember" has moved a half inch or so to the rear and another piece is shown. Not even sure that is the same chassis depicted.
Since parts in step 6 seemed to need things moved, yesterday I took a few things apart and moved them, adding that extra cross member. Tamiya Extra Thin makes this fairly easy to do as it breaks loose joins that are glued up with the same stuff. And having made those changes, I'm leary they will bite me in the backside shortly.

Yeah, that's fun!
Think of this as a good mental health exercise Lyle, like Dr Kawashima's Brain Training

This is my mental state working on this. I've stopped, had coffee, check the internet, etc many tmes and then come back to it. Some of the crappiest instructions, ever. I just "unglued" one of the rear axles because it was on the wrong way. I'll get back to it shortly.

Lyle, I have not had any issues removing chrome with gel bleach - just be sure it is relatively new bleach … I've also used gel dran/liquid plumber.

I'll have to give that a try. The bottle of bleach I have is probably a year or so old.
