Decals finished up today. Almost as many stencils as a jet fighter and nearly invisible on the OD. Tamiya Extra Thin stopped a little silvering so far, we'll see how it is after a day of drying.

Looking good. I imagine you'll wrap this one up before the weekend. Really got me itching to build my razorback.

Tamiya extra thin to help with decal silvering? How does that work John? That's a beautiful build - I love how the OD came out.

Definitely done by the weekend! Lyle, stop that, my head is fat enough!
Tamiya Extra Thin is best used carefully but it is a quick and sure cure for silvering on stencils. I have not done it with acrylics, everything on this one's exterior is enamel of one kind or another. Probably OK but take care. I don't use it on large decals but on this one I didn't need to. It instantly melts the decal film but doesn't seem to bother the printing. On large decals such as the squadron codes if there is a need I just brush paint over the problem areas with the underlying color before the flat coat.
I still see one decal trying to silver on the left lower gear door but the finished pictures are taken. The last two photos are with a Hasegawa D-25, the Pro Modeler P-47N, and an XP-72 from a Koster Monogram conversion.

Great job John. I really like the color modulation. Just need to go find your antenna 
Really like those white QIM marks. I'm doing a similar bird with markings that came from the 2007 IPMS nations - "Okole Maluna"

QIM? You mean the Spirit of Atlantic City?
According to Tamiya's instructions there was no antenna on this one, but maybe I need to do more research. There was one on the other option.
