Coming along nicely Tom despite some of your earlier issues.

That paint looks fantastic. The colors look just right. Invasion stripes around those rocket pods is gonna be a challenge. Looking forward to seeing you work this out.

Looks great, Tom. You are on quite the building binge! I am jealous.

Best aircraft ever...!

Tom, why not paint the aircraft as if it was a few days before D-Day - no invasion stripes needed.

I wouldn't worry about not painting the cockpit. When I built the Monogram Tiffie, I painted up the cockpit floor, stick and IP and then forgot to fit them :headslap: But you can see so little through the canopy it didn't matter.

Actually I think that Typhoons wore their older "recognition stripes" on the underside of the wings up until D-Day, when they were replaced by the Invasion Stripes.

ID stripes, more black stripes than white and not same sizes. No fuselage stripes.

Invasion Stripes, fewer black stripes, and all evenly sized, plus fuselage stripes

My plan was to paint the D-Day stripes instead of using the decals' black stripes. No, there aren't white stripes included. The white have to be painted. :bored:

Anyhow, I will be using some of the stripes as a template to mask for the black stripes. Top stripes...

Doing this will make it easy for me to line up to underside and opposite side of Fuselage.

Painting the stripes on the undersides is not a concern. If I end up having black and/or white paint on the rocket rails, they can be repainted by hand. No biggie.

Yes , it will be a challenge to mask for the stripes with the rails in the way but I think I can succeed in doing so.

When you said you had to paint the white stripes I had a moment of panic as I thought you were going to mask over the decals. But, I see now what you are up to. Never mind, carry on and good luck.

LMAO….scared you didn’t I? :giggles: :giggles: :giggles:

My plan…

The black stripes will be my guide where to mask for black. Once that’s done, a sticky tape will be used to pull the decal stripe off. The white stripes will be painted last.

I believe my reaction to the post was this initially.
