All that copyright lettering is on the inside of the fuselage so no worries about covering that up. lol . As far as the interior goes , Monogram must of not had much of a research team back then is all I gotta say!

I got rid of the seam line but it cost me a lot of detail.



What I did next was my first time at ever attempting. I re-riveted the missing rivets and made a couple of panel lines out of stretched sprue. Damn near all of it got removed during the putty and sanding process:

And here's the application. Go easy on me , it's my first ever. lol

I quit while I was still ahead on the front as I didn't want to marr the work that I'd already about halfway decently pulled off. I started moving onwards with the wings. Good Lord I had no idea what I was in for here!

Thanks Borg. I'm about 70% done with it now. I'll continue taking you guys through the building process to catch up to where I'm at right now. I'll have to say (and I am not gloating. It's more of a surprise to me) that I'm not going to feel bad when I hand it to my good friend for Christmas all tucked away in a decent case.

Thanks Joe. Looking back I could have tried a rivetmaker I suppose. I'm just chalking it all up to learning right now.

Problems were starting to creep up when I entered this phase of the build. The nasty ass gaps and misfits were apparent as well as noticing that I have a separate air intake piece to install and fit into that gaping friggin' hole on each wing.....Yuk!!!! The first pic also shows the engine detail. Hey, I did the best I could with what I had.

Before I installed these pieces though I primed them with black primer and then shot a thin coat of zinc chromate on 'em. Wether its the right color or not I'm not sure. I had little reference material until this last weekend on this bird but now its too late. I'm already well beyond this stage here, so zinc chromate it stays. I will be making plans for a Tamiya build in the future though and things will be ALOT more accurate and detailed.
