Stalled for the moment. Need to get Tamiya Bare Metal Silver for overall finish and at least 3 different silver colors for the panels... Dark aluminum, stainless steel, super fine silver. Gunze super metallics are all on backorder. :bored:

I may end up getting Vallejo metallics for aircraft panels if I'm that desperate. :bag:

Cockpit is looking great! Eduard does tend to over do things don't they?

Had to make some paint adjustments. Need to strip silver off struts, tail wing rudders, wheel hubs.

Silver was waaay too shiny for my liking.

I had some Krylon Brilliant Silver and compared it to Tamiya Bare Metal Silver on plastic spoons. The Brilliant Silver will be my Super Fine Silver, Bare Metal Silver will be my secondary Silver in certain areas on the Mustang. With a wedding coming up over the weekend, I won't be on the bench as much the next few nights on the Mustang.

Well crap... looks like I've got some serious fit issues. Major gaps too. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: Time to pull out the grinder.

I also test fit the fuselage to wings. It's not gonna sit properly because I need to grind down this troublesome notch. Its suppose to marry itself to the bottom of cockpit. Nope. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

If.... and that's a big IF.... it doesn't pan out as I hoped, in the trash it goes. I'm hoping a bit of sanding remedies these issues.

Did a quick grinding session with my Dremel before getting dressed for the wedding and heading out to Rochester. So far, it looks "promising". I may have bit off a bit more plastic and created holes in a couple spots. Not that it mattered since I'm not gonna see it once built up. I will know they're there. Oh well.
