I have found that if you stuff them with Silly Putty to give a good solid filling, and use a brand new no.11 Xacto blade, it is a bit less challenging to do.

That's pretty much what I do do - although I still manage a wobbly line or two

This kit just needs better clear parts and tires...but I am not letting that bother me. I am building a childhood friend. When it's done it's going to look like a model of a B-24.

As things stand right now...

Coming along nicely. I do like the Liberator - something about the curvature of the engine cowls. We built more Liberators than B-17s

I have always liked the Davis wing and the twin B-24/B-25 Style tail design. I think the B-24 is an attractive aircraft unlike most and definitely a lot of real estate for nose art!

A childhood friend indeed! My friend built this one and I built the Revell B-24… gonna enjoy watching this blast from the past.

Yeah I do like the B-24, but it's not a Lancaster

I cut around the edges with small scissors leaving a generous bit of width wide of the intended edge, and do the final shaping with a slow turning dremel grinding tool. Just enough speed so the plastic melts a bit. A trick I learned shaping and drilling holes in plexiglas on full size airplanes. Not nearly as hard as it sounds.

Thanks for the tip John - the dremel is an interesting idea.
