Seeing your shipbuilding gets me fired up to explore these kits. I’ve also been thinking about Renwal’s Aeroskins too because nobody wants to buy or build ‘em. Is the scale of this not large enough? Because this looks like a root in’ tootin’ good line up of model ships to build!
I understood your reply to Carlos to be humorous without any additional context needed. I’m always looking backward at the classic era of model kits but you’re looking forwards, Lyle! That’s a big, beautiful kit. If you can find “Mr. Just” CA it might help you. It doesn’t bond to your fingers as easily as some other super duper glues. Or to tools. And it doesn’t coat your fingertips, either. It does however create a coat over whatever the surface is. Too much time analyzing this, but that’s the reality.
I believe that Yorktown was dry docked in one of the main permanent dry docks in Pearl to allow for maximum access by workers. Those yard workers truly performed an industrial miracle getting her repaired enough to get back into battle. I have read Walter Lord’s Incredible Victory more times than I can remember. Along with many other works on the battle.
