Thanks Bruce! You don’t happen to have photos of the backpack unit worn on the Discovery? It is different than the ones worn on the moon.

I don’t have any photos of the backpack but I could check the high rez stills because that was definitely featured.
I wanted to add this bit of information because most of my suit research on 2001 centers on the Moonbus. The differences between the Clavius Base/Lunar suits and the Discovery One suits are attributed to different missions and environments. Silver and blue moon suits with different O2 and interface modules were designed to be used by moonbase personnel and adapted to lunar conditions while Discovery’s suits were adapted from these designs to function in space.

Today I finally started painting my figure. First it was primers… gray on most of the figure and white on the helmet area
Then a few hours later I painted the space suit using Vallejo silver…
Looks like I’ll need to do some touch up work in it, although to the Mk.1 eyeball, those strokes and thin areas are not visible. Funny how merciless that digital photography can be… I had to think back a bit, but I haven’t painted a figure larger than 1/32 scale since I was a kid painting Aurora movie monster figures with Testors square bottles about 50 some odd years ago…

Looking good, Carlos!
Heh… Aurora Movie Monster kits. Fond memories of them. My brother in law did do most reissued monster kits during the winter months after deer hunting season is done for the year. He also done a few vintage Super Hero kits too.
