Thanks for those Bruce - well I'm not too far off, I just need to drybrush some of the base colours back over the dark wash I've just added and I'll post up a picture.

Okay so here's my attempt - the photo is a bit dark so it's actually a bit lighter in the flesh so to speak.

The pics are so entertaining. History, humanity. I’m waxing tired this AM. The attitude, in a good way, confidence, commitment, comrades. Knowing so many did not return. The pictures always get to me a bit.

Oh, the pilot dude looks pretty darn good.

Yes, the pilot does look good…. Very good I would say.

I wonder about some of those group photos myself Lyle. Who in the photos survived the war. Aviators did have a very high attrition rate. Long ago my mom worked with a guy who was a ground crewman for the AAF in WWII. I remember him saying that they didn’t make friends with the pilots as they came and went so rapidly. They didn’t want to form any attachment to them.
