I am not sure if I even see the machine gun mounted here and I believe it may be the same Storch.
My feeling is you nailed the DAK color scheme!

Thank you Bruce, no it's not mounted in that photo but the round window with the smaller round hole is the MG port that's the window that has some frosting. I was able to remove some of it today with a toothpick. Going to take some 2000 grit sandpaper to it tomorrow then try to buff it clear. Before I do that I would be interested in hearing the toothpaste trick you said your dad use to do. Sounds like it would be lot less of a headache.

Clint—Is the frosting on the interior or exterior? My Dad would use white toothpaste, and buff out individual panes with microfiber camera cleaning cloths. This was in HOn3. The glazing was nowhere near as complex and beautiful as on your Storch, however a repeated light polishing would remove fine scratches. If you need, I should have an extra canopy to show you, but it sounds to me as though 2,000 grit glued to the end of a pick works. I also have dental picks my Dad used to clean corners. Mustang Joe told me about plastic polish. That works too! It’s just a tad pricey.

It's luckily on the outside. The odd thing is I dipped these in future like I do all clear parts but still got this frosting. No CA was used close to it either. It's not grey or one of the camo colors but white so it's not paint that leaked under the mask. I have some more photos to post but for some reason flikr won't let me upload from my phone.

I understand Clint! Sometimes I’ll withhold posting pics until I get to where I want to go. Or at least have a good idea that I’m going to get there. Is the frosting from CA? Before putting anything abrasive, I would first try the toothpick (moistened would help). Do you have debonder? I would try that too. Only after that would I resort to an abrasive.

I'm not sure what it is. I don't think it's from CA since I didn't use any close to the canopy. I've managed to remove some gently with a toothpick I'll try it with some debonder and see what happens. Thank you.

If it is not CA then I wouldn’t use debonder. Most likely light blue overspray? I would try the toothpick moistened with iso alcohol.

Cool ideas here... I guess I am pretty quick to go a-grinding, instead of trying to strip with a wash. I must reconsider or “unlearn.”

I've got a few things done on this. One my figures that I have been waiting on came in today
It has eight figures in it, Rommel and two of the NCOs come with the Storch but it has five figures that are different in Afrika Korps uniforms plus it was only $10 free shipping so why not. I probably will have another 1/48th DAK build in the future anyway. 1/48 figures are hard to come by compared to all the 1/35th offerings.
Also built a small table, nothing looks more like wood than wood, I like working with base wood but couldn't find anything thin enough so had to use balsa.
Should have more tomorrow. I mixed some Mig desert sand pigment with DI water and coated the wheels and struts with it, after it dries tomorrow I'll remove most of it with a stiff brush.
