Color is on all exterior parts now. Just waiting a few days for the paint to totally cure out before I start sanding some of the dust particles out and movin' on to the clearing process.

Very nice smooth finish!
Black is probably one of the more difficult colors to get a nice & smooth surface!

Thanks Kari. Got a couple of small problem areas to work out but other than that I'm good with this. I can't wait to start moving on to the flame job up front.

Thank you Mark. Will be figuring out how prominent I want the flames on this one........................ . I'm going for more of a "ghost" look with them.

Now that is how a color coat is won! Congratulations on transforming the whole look of the project right there, bud. Are you using lacquer base or acrylic here, because whatever that is, you made it behave beautifully: a nice deep rich punch out of color that is only going to improve when cleaned up and clear coated.

Thanks Bruce! When it comes to black I use Testors Semi Gloss Black Lacquer and clear it with Testors Wet Look Gloss Lacquer dispensed and shot through a Badger 350 airbrush. As primitive as the airbrush is , it sure lays down a smooth coat of paint on all my automotive paint finishes.

I really enjoy the Testors Lacquer sprays because when dispensed I don't have to worry about thinning ratios or any of that crap. I just dispense, let the paint gas out for a few minutes................................and spray.

Recording devices switched ON. I like Gunze lacquers, too. I like ‘em tons, actually. Tough as nails. A miniaturized auto body shop finish. I am gonna give more Testors paints a try. What are you using as a clear?
