Similar to stretched sprue, you can also use strips of plastic card. I like to do this, if I want to finish the piece separately before gluing into place.



Another option using the stretched sprue approach is to put the sprue after the two pieces have been joined and weld it into place using Tamiya Extra Thin cement.

Dang it! There's no fooling you guys! You can barely make out the outline of the removed bump in that first pic.
