Sorry about the loss bud. Glad you're going to make something good out of it though.
I'm going to have to ask you more about this Hasegawa D-9 when you get back and get settled. I've been eyeing another D series build on down the line.

So going back home, in a way. My friend wants to go the Big Island for some golf after the memorial service so maybe I'll get to see some of the volcano action. He told me that we can go fishing too so I'm packing my little travel rod. Leaving Saturday and staying for a week.
I’m sorry to hear about this. I remember several of my friends parents being strong influences and surrogate parents, in addition to my own, in their own way as I was growing up. Have a safe journey.

Thanks for the kind words of support! I'm back home after spending the week in Hawaii. The memorial service was very nice and it was good to see old friends and my mom, dad and sister's family. After the funeral and celebration of life party afterwards, I spent a few days on the Big Island with my friend to relax with a few rounds of golf. It was an enjoyable trip but I am glad to be home.
I'm not ready to step back into the modeling room just yet but hopefully will be able to resume work on the Dora soon!

Welcome back and I'm glad that you could reconnect with family and refresh your batteries so to speak. Family is most important and one should always take time out to spend it with family. Take your time getting back to the bench; it is just a hobby after all and your work is always well worth waiting for. We'll be here.

Thank you Bruce and Duke!
I haven't been able to jump back into modeling full bore yet but spent enough time to finish up the Revi gunsight for the Dora. The gunsight is from the Aires resin set. Instead of the provided clear acetate, I used a little thicker clear plastic for the reflector glass pieces. The edges of the forward glass element was painted with clear green/blue. I sprayed the back element with Tamiya smoke to give it a tint just for kicks.
