I think trying to replicate real wood is a challenge to achieve in plastic models. So many variations of brown color, you never can figure which color is sufficient or correct. Brilliant work on the axe. Bravo. :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:

I’m with stik on this one.. :writing: :writing: and more :writing:

I really like that. The weathering is great, I like the color of the oils you washed it with to pull out those details, it makes for a lovely piece. Great work!

Also, this here, where the camo gives way to bare metal:

This was executed in such a lovey way. I like how you didn’t use a hard edge. It looks natural this way. It adds realism. I love little details like this that are so well-executed.

Regarding paints...

They arrived a moment ago, directly from my "LHS", Domino models...

And I went with the recommendation of Torben & Carlos, AK Real colors it is!

Have test "sniffed" already both the thinner and the jars...
... and mmmm, I love the smell of thinner & lacquers in the morning!

Grrrrreat!!!
Real Color paints are quite "rich" on pigments, so I recommend to try some thin ratios first. Though I've used a different thinner (Mr. Levelling Thinner), I've painted with 20% paint for surfaces and 10-15% for detail work.
Cheers,
Torben
