The Krystal Klear solution looks to be workin’ just fine. If it’s stable enough in location, I would vote for letting it cure in place and moving on! One o’ my rules is no model building past midnight. That includes the thinking about model building solutions too. Although I wrote ‘rules,’ I suppose it’s more of a suggestion, lol.

Put a second coat of the Klear on it yesterday. It filled it out nicely, but looks like it may stay a bit foggy. It will sit for a while. Now, I wonder if the mask will pull it out? Hmm.....

Nice work on the clear nose. I would avoid masking though; I've had issues with it pulling the window out. You could try it and of it does pull the window out, then just add a new one using the same technique. The benefit will be that the frame will already be painted by that time.

I agree with the Duke! A redo is more than likely if you mask—but that is a good thing.

My room is, or was a lot like that picture. I am slowly getting it "together" whatever that means. The second coat of Micro Krystal Klear dried and formed to the shape quite well. Then whilst looking for the nose landing light for the A-10, I found the missing window panel. The modeling gods giveth and taketh. I don't know whyeth.
Anyway, I popped the Krystal Klear window out and was impressed at its solidity and shape. Seems pretty stout, but I do wonder if it is fully cured yet? Can one ever get to a stage where those are sandable and such? The real piece is on the left, the Micro Krystal Klear on the right.

I don't think Micro Klear will ever be hard enough to sand or polish. I think it is a form of white glue (PVA), like Elmers.

Yeah, that is in all likelihood the case. That piece still seems pretty "soft". I was impressed that it filled that large of an opening, though.

It is white glue. Just packaged for us modellers.

So... what is your plan with the window replacement?? I read your thread again seeking enlightenment, but I must have missed something. It looks like you have the clear kit part as well as your cast Krystal Klear (Clear?) version.
