Kenny, there is another older method for chipping. Rubber cement. Applied via toothpick on a base color exactly where you want it. Then apply your top coat and remove the rubber cement afterwards, reveling the base coat as chipping. It’s an old model rail road technique.

The side console installed, dry brushed, and I’m happy with it. I’ve also been slowly working on the other miscellaneous details and things in there, and I’ll most likely be painting and installing the guns today.

Have you tried Ammo's chipping fluid? They have three different versions. I used it on the Y-wing.

Yes, their Heavy Chipping Fluid.

I was happy with the results I got with it the first few times I used it, however later on I noticed that the fluid turned cloudy and rather viscous, and it was leaving an odd texture on the surfaces I’d spray it on. My Aqua Net doesn’t do that, in my latest tests it has gone down nice and smooth when sprayed from an airbrush. The downside to that is, it is difficult to determine how many layers of hairspray coverage are needed to achieve the desired results on any given day. My last test was three coats I believe, and the chipping was quite small. I liked that, but wasn’t entirely fond of the pattern I achieved in that particular experiment. More scuffed than chipped. Ideally I’d like to see both, but more of a chipneffect around certain areas like wing roots for example.
