Way to go Lyle! This is really looking exceptional now. Your idea of using the steel wool is most impressive; the results look amazing. Congrats on bringing this further along.

Kind of did. Ate lunch, had some supper later.Took the missus to the sleep study appointment and I am home. Eating puff corn snacks (think cheese puffs without the cheese), Jack Links hot beef snack drinking a diet Mt. Dew and watching a baseball game.

Not gonna complain about the fit. Not gonna complain about the fit. Not gonna complain about the fit. Not gonna complain about the fit.

Door taped in the door opening. I have not touched the fuselage opening other than to scrape out some filler. Sheesh.

If you won't complain about it then I will, what the heck it is up with that opening?
Lyle I think it's safe to say you picked that hardest kit ever engineered to build.

Damn! Are you sure that's the right door?

I hope so. It was in the kit. I’ve patched that slight blemish a bit. Tomorrow, I’ll dig out another door and check it.

Dug out the other t-50 kits, these are Czech model kits...from Squadron. Not the Squadron Encore version. The door fit the fuselage on the Czech model fuselage. The clear door is a different size from the styrene part. I don't know what happened. It does seem they really want you to leave the door open.

Just got the fuselage back for the Cough and Hack Styrene, Putty and WeFixem Body Shop. The owners are three fellows, Wee, Cheatem and Howe.

It looks much better to my blurry eye than it does in the pictures. Overall fit of the door is still bad enough that I may have to leave it open.....all the way or just a bit as if you didn't close it "real good" as we say. It is better than before, I think.

Filler piece of scrap added.

A good schmear of Perfect Plastic Putty (hard to say if you are Sylvester the Cat), and some sanding.....

Looks good!

I wouldn't worry Lyle - IIRC the doors didn't shut very well on most Cessna's anyway.

We tried to fit a replacement wing on a Skyhawk once - the front attachment point was half an inch out! :bag:
