The process of creating the red wash is much better than the kit part’s design—particularly those three central ribs. The PL-8 is shaped a bit like a dart. I think the transitional ribs ought to be slimmed down and almost taken away, although I hesitate to offer this criticism as I have been making out of scale details in 1/32. At 1/72 this is what, a needle, perhaps? Still at magnification it appears distinctly different than the weapon it represents... thoughts? Echo back.

Unfortunately you right about the details and so your words are welcome. I am not sure how to proceed. Remove them or leave them?

I would go for it. Wrap a small strip of sand paper around the center and sand down those annoyingly large ridges. The immediate benefit will be a presence like those on the aircraft. In addition the color itself draws attention to the wingtip, in my opinion. Do you think sanding will be your approach or some other method? Echo back.

I think I will use a scalpel and files. To prefinish I always use a Wilkonson nail polish file with three different blades.

Thumbs way, way up! Thanks for the information on sanding files, too.

Beautiful work Marius! I also love the modulation in the camo pattern. I wonder if I can get an Israeli Lavi to add to my 1/72 scale Israeli Air Force.... :hmm:

Anigrand offers one I guess. The Lavi is a beauty too.
