Thank you Bruce! I appreciate your encouragement with that! Thank you for that. I’m glad I made them. Gonna make them for the Stuka too because the PE ones Trumpeter included will just need painted anyway, and I like working with the tape better.

And LOL Yep Stuart, some of the 80’s rocked. In all the best ways though.

:hmm: Coors... not my favorite, but I’d buy a round...

Especially to toast that harness :shoutout:ice

Nice work on that Kenny!

Next time I build a quarter scale cockpit I'm going to use this thread as a guide - cracking work Kenny, those belts are awesome!

Cheers!

PS - Like Bruce I forgot to mention how much I liked your wife's costume! What a great idea, she really looks the part.

Thank you, Carlos and Stuart. I’ve learned that the model, any model, is worth the extra time we put into little details like that. And I’m really glad I did it.

Congrats on the belts buddy, they look very good in situ. Definitely kicked the decals to the kerb!

Thank you Kent! I appreciate it! I’m much happier with my belts than the decals. I’ll probably end up making my own from now on when I do closed-canopy 1:48 models.

I’ve gotten a fair bit of work done this morning. First,
Some test-fitting:

I also worked on detailing and washing/weathering the sidewalls. I used John’s “Stage Makup” highlights idea, as well as picking out details with my mini cotton swab. I also did some paint chipping which is very hard to see, and then used Tamiya’s panel line accent wash to dirty it up. Here’s the results:

I’m pleased. It’ll probably get entombed later today.

Oh. I found this in my desk drawer. When my son was 6 months old, his Pediatrician became concerned with a flat spot on the back right-hand side of his head. She sent us to a cranial specialist. He had to wear a corrective helmet for a while and while we waited for the clinic to fabricate it, I drew some ideas for stickers to put on it. We eventually went with a Motörhead sticker I had, but this was one idea I liked a lot:

I’m keeping that and may end up stenciling it onto a big wheel or something for him a little later on down the line.

That's coming along great Kenny - I love it when the fuselage gets buttoned up and it starts to look like an Aircraft.

I love that sticker idea!

Me too, Stuart! And then, after the wings are glued on and stuff and she’s ready for primer, I love that as well.

Well gentlemen, all the hard work I put into building, painting, and weathering the cockpit is now entombed forever inside the fuselage. I got her all sealed-up.

It feels good.

I like how this kit is engineered. I can work on the engine and cowling at my leisure and proceed with the rest of the build. So here I am, test-fitting the first three wing segments while the primer on the engine parts dries.. The fit is very good. The wing roots are beautiful. This part of it isn’t going to be bad at all.

I have to say, I like this little airplane. And boy, this is a great kit. I’m having a lot of fun with this one.
