I'm not surprised. I flew them a lot in the winter months. It was chilly! The flying service I used was run by a family friend. He and my father became friends in 1947 when Dad was an air traffic controller and Dick was trying to get this flying service off the ground (so to speak). Dick would take several wrecked 150s and build one good one. Kept his prices down that way. Dick was Richard C. Mulloy. He was an All-American Football player at Tennessee and flew C-46s over the Hump. Great man. I learned more about flying from him than anyone else. When he would give you your check ride for your private certificate, if you looked over he might appear to be sleeping but was actually watching everything you did. Loved him like a father.

Sounds like a great guy Lyle - I always found aviation to full of great characters like that.

Thank you, John. I'm trying, but it is two steps forward and it seems three in reverse. Spread some CA on the filler in the door to harden it. Popped the vert stabilizer off (no, not on purpose) and reattached that, and so on. Painting the engines now.

Hang in there you'll whip this thing into shape or maybe grind it into shape.

Well, there isn’t ab opening on the other side. No, I’m sure it is the right door. Fits okay on another fuselage half.

The more I look at the first picture, and sit eating BBQ chips and grocery store sushi, I could be convinced that I did the damage while sanding the wing join. I don’t know how, though.
