LOOSE PARTS

This is my safe storage system which is patterned after garage resin kits being wrapped in paper towels for safe transport. No matter what stage the part is in—unpainted to painted and weathered—I wrap it in a Kleenex, tie it off with tape and write a description on the label. After that, these bundles go back in the box usually or more recently inside a plastic baggie.

CMK SAW. Just remember: go slow. I will do one flap a night - top first then bottom. One down. Three to go.

Very nice cutting Bruce! Since the blade is obstructed by the mounting screws, did you keep the blade at a constant angle as you worked your way across? For these type of long cuts, I've also used Tamiya saws...

Thick plastic... I sympathize with all who perform alterations. Many deep breaths...

I taped the wing to a block of wood then drew the saw back and forth in parallel with the plastic. It worked but maybe it was not the best idea. The hard part was a small locating pin underneath at the intersection of the vertical and horizontal cuts. I sure am glad I spotted it when I flipped the wing over; not only was that preventing the saw from cutting through, the pin was also in danger of cracking out a circle where the edge should be straight.

Just starting to think about this... a base coat of Gunze yellow. It is important to stress that the reference photos reflect the aging process to an extant; I hope to make this appear “in use” and not an “artifact,” although the samples appear very well preserved.

These updates are looking real good! I like what you did with the flaps. The seat back pad is looking great as well.
