That is the link to the first page. When you click on it, make sure you have a ton of time to read it; this Thread is now up to 36 pages. There are even a number of places where he shows you the diagrams he calculated and drew to make the changes he did make. I would say that after 36 pages, he's still less than halfway done.


BTW, does any of those links you found for the 1/72 scale Dora show my Dora? Just curious.

1. First model kit?

First model kit ever? That’d be Airwolf, believe it or not. I think I was ten. I forget the scale. If we’re talking “since returning to the hobby almost 30 years later”? That’d be Tamiya’s 1:48 BF109 E3. I brush painted it, and it came out terrible!

2. Preferred scale?

1:48. I haven’t completed a 1:32 scale aircraft, yet.

3. Preferred subject or subjects?

Aircraft, specifically Emils. The BF109 is my favorite subject.

4. Favorite model built to date?

My running favorite right now is Tamiya’s StuG III Ausf B. That kit was just a joy to build from start to finish.

5. Hardest model built to date?

I wouldn’t say “hard” for this one, but I’ve had so much trouble getting it done. Tamiya’s 1:48 Corsair. It’s a straightforward build, but every time I try to complete one, a string of ridiculous disasters always befall me. It’s happened on three separate attempts. So I’m going to build the 1:32 version instead, see if that doesn’t shake the curse.

6. Holy Grail kit?

I want to see Dragon do a StuG III in 1:35 with a full interior, including controls and engine.

7. Favorite kit maker?

I’m leaning toward Eduard, in terms of aircraft, with Tamiya a close second. In terms of armor, I like what Dragon is doing.

8. Favorite glue or glues?

Tamiya Extra Thin all day.

9. Favorite paint?

Tamiya Acrylics.

10. What started you as a modeler?

I enjoyed it as a kid, it relieved boredom. I came back to modeling in adulthood after a long hiatus and I started doing it because I felt like I needed a creative outlet, and my fascination with WWII certainly helped nudge me in that direction.

Again another great interview! Thanks to both of you, Kenny that was a good read lets all hope and think positive thoughts for that 1/32 Corsair.

It must be something with 1/48 Corsairs. I built a Revell 1/48 Corsair because initially I thought that it was going to be an easy build. Man was I ever in for a surprise. That kit did end up in the trash can...……….twice. I was too far into it to turn back however and finished it up. Really enjoyed your interview.
