Many thanks, Floki! I’m getting the hang of this wiring stuff slowly but surely. It’s quite a lot of fun to do. I’ll be wiring up my 1:72 Spitfire cockpit here soon as well as my 1:72 Tony cockpit, and the G6 has been in a very real way a test bed for me to get acclimated with using stretched sprue as wiring. I’ll keep on practicing. It really adds a lot to a model.
Bruce, hahahaaaa! Thank you buddy. I appreciate you. I’ll flat coat her tomorrow at first light, then!

Well I finally got caught up with this thread and I have to say you are doing some stupendous work here! Brilliant job all around! Kenny, this is what sets you and the rest of the Masters here far above mediocre guys like me. You rock man! Looking forward to seeing more!

Medicman and Big Duke,
Thank you, fellas! Much appreciated!
I’ll tell ya, I picked up that Emil off the shelf because at the time I wanted a quick, easy build with a kit I was familiar with, just to try to get my mojo back. Well that ain’t what happened HAHAHAAA! But I’m glad to be back to modeling. And I’m glad to be back to learning and improving. I’m happy with how the Emil and Gustav are coming along.
Nothing to report on the Emil today. Time was short. But I did flat coat the Gustav’s cockpit. Here’s some photos I snapped afterward, before sealing it inside the fuselage:

That flat clear tied everything together nicely I think. And I wanted to take a breather from this and get back to the Emil but there’s the back plate to paint and install yet, and then actually affix the top bits of the harness to it. I’ll do that tomorrow after the fuselage has had a chance to sit with the glue setting overnight.
Thanks for looking!

Looks awesome. I wonder what happened under negative g's with those foot straps on the pedals?
Thanks,

Thanks fellas!
And here’s an update on Pips’ Emil! As of the end of my lunch break today, we’ve got mottling!

... I tried making masks l/friskets out of old tape, cardboard, silly putty... in the end I was unhappy with all my tests. The edges were either not diffused enough or too diffused, for my liking. So in the end I just freehanded it.

You gotta do what you gotta do. Looks good to me.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
Re: From Kenny X’s Shelf Of Doom
Thanks Lyle!!
As per usual, I pulled the model back out and tweaked it. I always do that. I added a bit more RLM 70 and RLM 02. Very happy with it. Calling this part DONE! Tome for a gloss coat.
