Thanks Gents! It really isn't that great up close but it'll do!

Stuart, it will look a lot more like a nice Mustang than that empty spot on your shelf. And as Red Skelton used to say after one of his Jokes, "I got an Udder One!". Airfix does too so you can just keep going until you feel like you have it "right".

Apologies for being a bit quiet over the last few days, but I have been making some progress on the 'Stang.

The painting is pretty much done now, time for the main decal work. It looks a bit rough up close but it'll be okay once everything is on. The D-Day markings and checkerboard are a mix of decals and paint. The prop spinner was freehanded in the end, even though I have brought some rather good Tamiya white detail tape.

Cheers all!

Looking good Stuart! Looks like you were able to get the checkerboard decal to work! Painting uniform stripes on a spinner can be very tricky!

Thanks John!

Your suspicions about the checkerboard decals were indeed correct, the yellow band didn't fit at all. so I painted the yellow and used the red checkers - they seemed to work well over the paint.

Double bravo for Stuart on the nose colors... :shoutout: :shoutout:
That’s all painted with a brush!

Awesome! Looks great!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Thanks Gents, much appreciated!

It's a bit rough if you stick your nose right up to it but step back a bit and it looks okay. I'm certainly looking forward to getting the decals on.
