The panel line issue for me seems to be a common problem - I'll just keep the paint as thin as possible and hope for the best

Nice new avatar photo, bud! Gotta love tri-corner hats, sincerely. Very cool. What about gently opening the paneling lines up after the paint cures, flood with panel line wash, seal with Future?

Good idea, although if I do anything I'll probably re-scribe the lines before paint just to deepen them up a bit.

I've been slowly getting back into aircraft mode since I came back from Holiday.

Even though I'm still stumped by a lack of decals, I've progressed the painting on my Mongram Typhoon in a generic RAF scheme - Yellow leading edges, Sky band and spinner. I've also painted up the UC and hope to have it assembled over the weekend. It'll be good to get it up on it's own feet.



And as stated, I've started the Tiger Hobbies 1/48 F-5C. So far not a bad kit at all (the mouldings are from Tan Model). I was a bit annoyed that I had to use filler on the nose, but thankfully the panels lines are quite deep so I won't need to do much panel line recovery after sanding.

I've painted the cockpit up quite dark - It's just something I'm trying. when you see these birds from afar you can't see a lot of the pit and I'm just trying to reflect that. I still need to finish the belts on the seat.

Thanks Stik - Yeah things are going pretty well at the moment all things considered (well as well as they can be with an Autistic son and a highly strung Wife going through a mid-life crisis ) - it probably won't last so I'm just enjoying it while it does.

I've fancied growing a beard for a while now - just for a change.

Stuart, everything looks magnificent. Kudos to you for continuing a build despite not having everything there. I also do the same thing. Keep them coming man, I do love the pit in the Tiger.

Thanks Duke. I'm certainly enjoying the Typhoon and I'll progress it as much as I can before I need some decals.
I'm feeling the 'pull' of a few other kits though - I wonder how long before I start something else I don't really like having too many builds on the go but I don't seem to be able to resist it. Perhaps rather than stressing the impulse I should just just embrace it.

Too many ideas... too little time...
