It all depends on the angle. :hmm: But seriously, the 35 is something of a brute in looks. Like a P-47 to a P-51 or F6F to a F8F.

Yes indeed, it's not the prettiest of aircraft but it does have a certain grace to it, especially from certain angles. The F-117A was the same in that respect - it looked quite graceful from some directions.

Well, black and/or gray are slimming colors.

Yeah, I agree with Stuart. That's one fugly aircraft. Question.. I thought they used Have Glass grey? Or is it the F-22 Raptor that uses that color? I have that color from Mission Model paint line.

The grey scheme is looking great, Carlos!

Thanks John. It is getting there.

Tom, I guess you have to learn to appreciate the design. Now the competitor X-32 was FUUUUUGLY! Thank God that plane did not win the fly off. As far as the paint goes, yes I believe that operational F-35s and F-22s use the HAVE GLASS paints. But the X-35s used the same colors and style scheme as the F-16 was using at that time. Hard to believe that this thing was in flight test twenty years ago.

Yeah I remember the X-32. Not too intimidating to foes with that big ol' "smile".

I honestly never did like the looks of the F-35 or F-22.

The F-35 is a design that has grown on me over the years.
