The kit is pretty entertaining, goes very smoothly and clearly fast. Precise what I wanted, though something I did, honestly, not expect to go. :-)

Todays main program was to mask the canopy, that comes in 3 crystal clear pieces.

But first some construction work of this and that was carried out. The engine and especially the cowling, which comes in no less than 9 pieces! Asking for trouble in other words...

But here Eduard has provided a great and ingenious solution; a jig! I have not seen this before in any kit, but surely could have used such a cowling-jig in some of my previous builds (for example my Revell FW-190 in scale 1/32, was a headache to try to build the cowling)





I was so happy of the result, 100% perfectly aligned, that I already painted the cowling.

And then it was time for masking. A stage in the build i dislike pretty much. Luckily Eduard provides readily cutted masks, but still.. a tedious work to get them aligned correctly. But, something that just simply must be done, before major paintwork can start. The plan is to let my Badger Krome sing tomorrow.
Regarding the masks, a small remark. The masks are not the best that Eduard has come with. The fit is not exactly correct, some pieces slightly too small, some slightly too big, they just don't fit nicely.

Especially if one selects to have closed canopy, then one can forget to use the masks. The pieces are too big! Due to this, my zero will have the canopy open.





And here she is, waiting eagerly for tomorrow, when the main paintwork will start

Kari, I have many times found that I could get better fits drawing and cutting my own masks, than what comes from Eduard. I usually scan the Eduard set first, then if something doesn't fit I can make adjustments and cut new sections with the vinyl cutter.

Oh very nice! Now you’ve got me wanting to get the Eduard Zero!

That I can believe and that's absolutely the advantage having an own cutter !
