Ahh, the foibles and follies of an aged, arthritic, one-eyed, diabetic, heart bypass, hypertensive modeler having some fun. Sigh.
I am becoming a non-fan of Montex masks. The ones for the pilot's canopy pieces lifted and ….yes, a lot of paint bleed. both on the primer (lacquer of course). Out came the ISO Alcohol 91%, cotton buds and sandpaper. Then a polishing with 2500 grit...then a dip in Gauzy. I think they may be salvageable.
I was able to get the Dark Sea Blue (Tamiya XF-17) applied and it is drying in the booth. She is shy.
I will likely do some spraying in a bit to fill in light areas.

Thanks, Joe. My fault, I guess for not making sure I had a good seal. I am not looking forward to removing the rest of the canopy masking.

Windscreen has a few issues...nothing major. their masks, in some cases are just a scosh too big...hence the frame is covered. Missed that one

I've been plucking away at this, with great frustration directed towards me....I've pretty much decided the pilot's side canopies are toast, but have no other options. I think I finally have them painted and dipped in Gauzy again. They will have to be useable. Got some clear gloss on the old girl. It looked horrible right after I sprayed it. It was / is Krylon Clear Gloss. It has settled out okay. Pictures are not very good. Too windy. Blowing the pixels.
Here is what is left to do....

The blue paint came out well. Nice, smooth, and shiny!
