Word of the day: Disaster
Well, using a ziplock bag did not work. I did not secure the cuts for the opening inside the body. They popped out of the window openings and layed slap down on the wet paint. The roof is completely ruined. will have to be stripped, sanded and start over..Which for me, means the rest of the body will suffer, too.. as will the hood in all likelihood. Done with this one for a while.

You used a ziplock to seal open window area from the inside? Pfffttt... I always use blue painter tape or yellow Frog tape instead. Burnish down from inside and it’s always worked for me.

I don't know. I was worried about pulling up paint. Put the body in the bag, cut an "X" and tucked the flaps in the window openings. Oh well. Anyway, I've calmed down enough to tackle the repair this morning.

I guess I'll let that cure/dry until I can get back to it. Sunday is looking full up as is most of Monday.

Thanks, Joe. I may just leave the roof and call it a two-tone!

I almost did....with the Red Ryder BB gun! It is loaded and by the bench. Right now, I'm screwing up the Zero. It and the Tamiya paint did NOT like the bits of hairspray I applied in what I thought were high wear areas. Just finished wiping it down with 99%ISA and cleaning it off.

Respray and try the salt method. Tamiya Spray Paints are a bit different in my experience.
