My ex's grandfather remembers seeing F-4U's with minor damage (broken landing gear, damaged wing fold etc) being bulldozed off the side of the runway, and kiwi mechanics swarming the discarded aircraft for parts lol.

I can’t afford the 1:32 version. But I’ve been having so much fun with this one that I ordered another one for the stash.

Thank you!! We’re making progress, little by little!

Tamiya did a nice job with how they engineered the wings. The roots won’t need any fills, and the outer portions attach with the help of spars which not only secures them, the angle for the dihedral “just works” without any fussing, seems like.

I’m gonna let this paint set up and then clear coat it later tonight. Then do a wash tomorrow.
