Very interesting approach to weathering the tires. It looks very convincing in scale. I think I'll try something similar in the next build.

That join area on the leading edge of the wing at the roots tends to be an issue across the board on these D series aircraft. I had to deal with that one ....twice. Once when I built it and then again at a dang SHOW of all places. I managed to tack 'er back in place and still took a 3rd place with it.
Fantastic progress on this beauty. You really do make this look all too easy ya know.

Thanks Joe! I don't mind any leading edge cleanup as it is much easier than at the wing root! And no worries about this model at a show... not gonna happen!

Worked on the wing to bottom fuselage joint, which was filled with black CA glue and re-scribed. The area received the rivet treatment and now I can move on to the wing roots.

I have apoxie sculpt and miliput. I have never thought of using them as a filler. Grand idea.

Milliput is excellent for gap filling. You did a good job of installing that central wing section. Under paint shouldn't see any traces of gaps ever being there.

Thank you! Yes, Milliput is a very useful filler. I'll have to check my references but I think the joints around the central wing piece are panel lines so they will be treated as such and not made to disappear.
