I do like the inter-war stuff, I really must have a go at something from that era myself.

The difficult part is still ahead, attaching the wing. This is always difficult on a parasol wing aircraft. And this being an 25+ year old kit I do expect the fit to be "needing some adjustment". But that is the fun of building these old kits.

As suspected, the honeymoon is over. Fitting of the wing was difficult. I only did the middle struts and will work my way from middle to centre.
I used styrofoam, toothpicks and rubber bands for a jig.

There is some engineering in that jig construction!

I agree - that's a good method of jigging that I've not seen before.

It's a lovely looking build Borg - very colourful - and I love the shark table mat!

That's quite a set up you've got there Borg! You've almost booby trapped it to where you've gotta be careful when you're pickin' that one up!! lol

by this point, i'd be using a 3 pound hammer to rig it.

The shark table mat is my kid's but if it protects the table it is good enough.

As for the jigging method. I think this only works on single wing aircraft but styrofoam with pins is easy to set up and adjust.

The jig did not work properly. The rubber bands snapped and now the wing is crooked. But I have chosen not the adjust it. I think that snapping it off an reattaching it will not make it better and result in glue staines.





Most explicit view, you can see the difference between the wing and the tail plane.

If that happened to me, I can guarantee that damn kit would introduced to a nearby wall in 2 seconds. Hmm.. are you sure it's not the tail wings that's off center? I don't know but the main wings looked fine to me from the pic you posted.

Yeah it looks ok to me when you compare it to the fin - it's the tailplane that looks sightly off...

Either way it looks great!
