It is indeed a cool looking aircraft - and thanks for the picture, I was wondering what colour to paint the U/C and that helps a lot!

Those guards were actually used to keep the tyres from kicking up debris and damaging a/c on poor airstrips...The USSR typically always had their wheels and sometimes gear painted in a fairly bright medium green regardless of the overall scheme...

Really - I shall have to do some more reserch on this me thinks - I need to get an idea of what colours the bays were too.

I guess this is what I'm aiming at.



Interesting, the nose on the kit looks ok for this aircraft, but I don't think it has the mainwheel mudguards of this kit. I also not there isn't a hardpoint under the wing on this one. Just the Wingroot, fuse sides front and back and center station.

I must must remember to do more research on my builds...

That's what I thought - I've seen some pictures of some aicraft with tanks slung under the wings (which is the option the kit has) but most don't have anything - I'm going to remove the attachment points from under the wings and leave them off.

what scale is the Trumpy Mig? That'll be nice to see.

Should be able to do this nose with the kit, I’ve heard it’s not too accurate but I think they may have been talking about later versions.

Cockpit seems to have somekind of brown putty around the windows -




Not too sure about the overall aircraft colours - the Hasegawa call outs seem to be all mixes - I might just have to use the pictures as a referance and see what I can match from my stash of humbrol enamels. From what I can see I need two tones of green, one of tan brown and one light grey for the underside.
