I love how you've transform it, Stik. I like old kits and thought i HAD old kits, turns out they are just puppies. What you are building goes beyond any of my old stock kits.

That's a very effective camo - great job on painting it Stik, the sponge on a stick idea is a good one.

Actually it was not. Trying to get variety in the work and not have every blotch look the same was something of a challenge. I'm glad that you like it Borg.

That was a brilliant idea Carlos! It turned out magnificent! What a tremendous job! I can't wait to see this in person at IPMS.

Thanks Mark. Hopefully I will have it ready for this months meeting. If not, certainly by the next one. Not that it will be up to Joe LeMusio's biplane work level...

Well here is today's update.

I really did not like the front of the propeller- way too un detailed. But no AM or scratch work allowed... what to do? So I modified an unused kit part to make the front retaining plate. And I painted (weakly) the laminated wood effect of a typical WWI propeller.



finished painting the wheels for the main gear



I actually painted the cabane and interplane struts earlier in the week and today was a black base on teh radiator. I still need to dry brush the metalic colors on the radiator now





and finally touch ups on the lower surfaces and painted the metal part of the tail skid black



and touch ups on the engine area



and finally a test of the upper wing and prop in place..





I'm getting impatient to finish this now...

Thanks Lyle. The prop looks better on here than in person I think...

It's easy to second guess how a simulated wood grain turned out... All looks good from here!
