Re: The Scandinavian Dragon | canopy corrections, pt. II
I surely would have chickened out to add those two struts to the front canopy...
Well done, Lucas!

The body is assembled, and the canopy is painted from the inside & masked from the outside. Let the painting fun begin.

Wow! This is moving along very quickly!

Re: The Scandinavian Dragon | ready for paint.
Make sure you mask the canopy. Don't want to see you make the same mistake Lyle did. He masked the frame , not the glass part...

Fast modelling!
Re: The Scandinavian Dragon | ready for paint.
Nothing can go wrong with the supported Eduard masks - they fit like a suit. If you go for the way theyre supposed to be of course.

Expres masks are my favorite aftermarket item.tigrazor wrote:Nothing can go wrong with the supported Eduard masks - they fit like a suit. If you go for the way theyre supposed to be of course.

Re: The Scandinavian Dragon | ready for paint.
The most parts of the body are painted - only the outsides of the intakes and small parts like antennaes are left. Those birds looked quite shabby after a while.
I wanted to go for a shabby look too, but not too exaggerated. The darker spots are overpainted tactical numbers.
Heres another one, with a even more shabby look.

and finally the masking came off. A friend is building the same machine (as a Danish version), and he warned me: "Take care about overspray, if the canopy doesnt fit tightly!" Well. Mine was much too tight, so I had to take care to get it open after all without destroying the fragile canopy parts.
Yeah! Finally I can go for detail painting and the decals.
