Ok I'm confused. What and how is the Worn Effect acrylic fluid used? Is it a paint that gives it a worn look? Or is it used for chipping effect? :bag:

Black Sheep.
It's used for chipping effect like hairspray.

Thanks Portman. I'll be working on chipping tonight.

Here’s tonight’s work. I whetted a stiff brush and went over the areas that are chipped. I when ahead and added a slight amount of chipping to the wing Hinomarus. The only pictures that I can find of the plane were during the Ceylon in May 42. I’m figuring there was a little more chipping during that month before Midway.

Next I want to add some panel lines and some wash. I also need to finish the canopy and add the pitot tube.

Thanks guys. I love the AK chipping fluid. They also have Heavy Worn Effects which I would like to try and would work well with a derelict subject such as an abandoned vehicle.

Thanks John,
OK guys I’m done with the Kate. It depicts AI-301 from the Akagi with a 6 bomb load out. Not a bad little kit for an older mold. There was some flash that needed to be removed and I used the bombs and tail gun from the Airfix Kate. The base is the 1/72 Japanese Carrier base form Coastal kits.
