I added the decals today. Thomas, I chipped the decals with an x-acto blade where the paint was already chipped. The decals went down very nicely and reacted well to the setting solution.
Next will be the washes.

Looks like she just recovered on Akagi after bombing Midway. Great finish!

Thanks guys!
I’m done with the Val. This was a nice kit though the instructions were a little hard to interpret at times. It did require some scratching to make it acceptable but all in all it was fairly accurate.

Excellent finish and presentation!

Shouldn't the telescopic sight in front of the windscreen be black? The light color seems odd for optics.

I didn't think about that. The instructions didn't call out a color but I'm sure your right. I'll change that.
